Larissa Miller, from Wellington Point, has secured a place in the Australian Women’s Gymnastics team for the London Olympics.
The 19-year-old bars specialist, 19, who started her gymnastics career at Gymnastics Moranbah, secured one of the five berths in the team.
Gymnastics Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer Kym Dowdell, said she was delighted to have a Queenslander on the team.
“Being selected is already an outstanding achievement and Larissa has worked incredibly hard to earn her spot on the team,” Ms Dowdell said.
“It makes the gymnastics events even more attractive for spectators when you know you can barrack for a Queenslander.
"Our warmest congratulations go to Larissa and we look forward to getting behind her when the games kick off next month.”
Larissa joins Commonwealth GamesLauren Mitchell, Emily Little, Georgia Bonora and Ashleigh Brennan on the team.
The team will head to London early next month, with Australia's gymnastics contingent now complete with Janine Murray (rhythmic), Blake Gaudry (trampoline) and fellow-Queenslander Josh Jefferis (men's artistic) already named.
