Brisbane bus drivers will stop work next week, according to the Rail Tram and Bus Union.
The stoppage will occur on Friday, July 19 between 10am and 2pm, assistant state secretary David Matters said.
"That means the buses will stop in that period,” he said.
All council staff are voting this week to protest Brisbane City Council's 2 per cent pay rise offer.
There will be bus services during the morning and afternoon peaks, but none during the day, Mr Matters said.
The RBTU has returned to council administration requesting a 3 per cent pay deal, with an income -protection plan.
However that has been rejected, Mr Matters said.
This comes as councillors struggle to come to terms with a state government pay deal offer that would cause councillors’ salaries rise by 41 per cent.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk yesterday said no councillor would receive a pay deal until a solution was worked through by Premier Campbell Newman.
