BOWMAN 21st Century Australia Party candidate Fernando Alba may be forced to run as an independent amid fears the political party will not be registered in time for the federal election.
The Australian Electoral Commission had not officially registered 21st Century Australia as a political party before the issuing of the writs on Sunday afternoon, meaning its preselected candidates may not be able to run as a combined ticket.
Party leader Jamie McIntyre has threatened legal action against the AEC.
It also means the party's Senate candidate for Queensland, Grace Cobb will appear below the line on the ballot paper on September 7.
