I FELT privileged to be among those in attendance at the NAIDOC week ceremony held in Cleveland, particularly as the names of more than 60 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans were read out and recognised for the first time.
To hear how these men fought and died serving their country at a time when many were still being denied basic human rights was extraordinary.
Congratulations to Redland City Council, the Quandamooka people, and all those involved in making this event happen.
