This Saturday’s show in the Redlands by Australian pop icon Marcia Hines won’t be her first here.
Marcia Hines performed in the then Victoria Point skating rink in 1979 in a show organised by the local newspaper, The Redland Times.
Marcia, speaking with the Redland City Bulletin, said she remembered the show and she still loved roller blading.
A veteran of 40 years in the business, the former Queen of Pop plays at the Redlands Performing Arts Centre , Cleveland on Saturday night, August 2, as part of her national tour after the release of her new album Amazing.
Marcia is touring with a brand new, six piece band, led by her producer and song writing partner, Tom Diesel.
According to the promoters, the performances showcase Marcia’s eternally youthful voice and the repertoire of melodic, gold plated hits that cover every facet of her remarkable career.
Marcia started out in 1974 with a top 5 single “Fire and Rain”, a cover of the James Taylor classic, Marcia has released 18 albums, 29 singles, sold over 2.6 million albums and had 7 top 10 singles.
She spent 7 years as the female judge of the television phenomena “Australian Idol”, starred in some of Australia’s most successful stage productions (Jesus Christ Superstar, Jerry’s Girls, Big River) and created an outstanding career through constant invention and musical excellence
With her new album, Marcia has enlisted the help of Russell Crowe, her superstar friend, to sing, star and direct her latest film clip for the new single “Remedy” from Marcia’s career-defining album “Amazing”.
“Remedy” is a rocking, musical romp complete with Marcia’s trademark vocal, Russell’s smouldering growl and an energetic emergency room scene with dancing nurses and a kicking horn section.
