A MAN accused of attacking a taxi driver in Redland Bay and stealing his phone has been charged with unarmed robbery.
Police allege the 36-year-old was leaving a party in Redland Bay at about 12.30am on Sunday when he punched a waiting taxi driver twice and refused to pay for his fare.
He then allegedly stole the driver's phone before running from the scene.
Police dogs attempted to track the man down, but he could not be found.
The man was questioned by CIB detectives on Monday and arrested. He was charged with one count of unarmed robbery and will face Cleveland Magistrates Court on Monday.
