THIS month's super moon and accompanying low tide gave ferry-goers at Victoria Point something special to look at.
Long-time Coochiemudlo Island resident Bruce Wollstein took advantage of the low tide on Sunday, August 10, and walked from the island to the mainland, crossing the muddy feat off his bucket list.
The 72-year-old retired Brisbane council officer, who towed a little canoe with him, said the deepest the water got was about 1.2m.
"It was a bit chilly but so invigorating it was the first time I'd done something for the first time in a long time."
Mr Wollstein's walk did not go unnoticed and he had a cheer squad from the public boat ramp, where many boats were left high and dry because of the extremely low tide.
The adventurous retiree was able to catch the incoming tide and paddle home.
