A CLEVELAND man was remanded in custody in Cleveland Magistrates Court on Friday morning after he was charged over Thursday's fatal traffic crash in Alexandra Hills.
Troy Anthony Weston, 40, briefly appeared before the court charged with manslaughter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police.
Police allege that a stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with another car at the intersection of Finucane and Vienna Roads, Alexandra Hills at about 1.30pm on Thursday .
A 65-year-old Redland Bay woman in the other car died at the scene.
Police also allege the vehicle failed to stop after an unmarked police car activated lights and sirens on Sallows Street, Alexandra Hills prior to the crash.
Weston was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries after the crash, but was transferred to the Cleveland Watch House before his court appearance.
A female passenger was also taken to hospital.
Weston, wearing a beige jumper, did not speak during his appearance.
No bail application was made and the matter was adjourned to October 30.
He has yet to enter a plea.
Ethical Standards Command is continuing to investigate the matter on behalf of the Coroner.
