Queensland police are yet to fully interrogate the man who allegedly stashed 50 kilograms of highly-volatile explosives in a Brisbane home.
Mr Fing is in police custody in New South Wales on unrelatted matters and has not been charged over the explosives find at the property he once rented under a false name at Pullenvale in Brisbane's west.
The explosives were discovered at the Red Cedar Road property last Wednesday by a real estate agent after Fing stopped paying rent and left.
The vacant home was scoured by bomb squad investigators, who carried out 17 controlled explosions at the site to dispose of the dangerous material, and Australian Defence Force personnel.
Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said the investigation, which includes NSW and federal police, was continuing.
"We're being very meticulous in ensuring we've got every bit of the evidence and the facts we can glean from the Pullenvale site in our grasp," he told reporters on Friday.
"Ultimately it will then mean dealing with the persons of interest and asking them some of the very hard questions that we need to."
Commissioner Stewart said police were confident they had located all explosives in the area that were linked to Mr Fing.
"At the moment all of our investigations into that particular matter have not found any direct link either to G20, or at this stage to terrorism," he said.
Authorities have refused to comment on most details about the case, including those which were leaked to the media earlier this week.
Nine News reported highly volatile explosives, including a type used in the 2005 London bombings, were found in the home's shed, as well as maps of a busy Sydney CBD intersection and an area on the outskirts of Newcastle.
Commissioner Stewart refused to comment on the identity or location of a woman believed to have been living in the Pullenvale home with Mr Fing.
Earlier this week, police searched the Fing family home in the Newcastle suburb of Belmont North. Officers used an armoured vehicle, known as the "BearCat", to smash through the front security fence.
The Fings, who are well known to NSW police, have no apparent links to Brisbane.
Daniel Fing was convicted in 2006 of bombing the car of his ex-girlfriend's new lover in Newcastle.
The explosives were discovered after a real estate agent checked the Red Cedar Road property when the occupants fell behind in rent payments.
The street was locked down for three days as police carried out a series of controlled detonations.
