RED and yellow clothing will move from Redlands' beaches and onto its streets on Saturday, September 6, for the annual Surf Safe Appeal.
Lifesaving volunteers from Point Lookout and Coochiemudlo Island will take to the suburbs with collection tins during the largest surf life saving fundraiser of the year.
Usually held in late November, the appeal has been moved to early September, before the patrol season starts, to allow more volunteers to take part.
The appeal runs from September 1 to September 14, but the most important doorknocking day in on September 6.
Point Lookout Summer Surf Girl representative Natasha Stevenson said the appeal was a vital initiative for supporting local clubs.
"All funds raised will go towards supporting our lifesaving services through the purchase of new rescue equipment, the maintenance of equipment and facilities and training," she said.
"We rely heavily on the community."
