A man was hit over the head with a block of wood before a man tried to steal his wallet on the Gold Coast.
About 7.20pm on Friday the man was walking along a bush track between Reserve Road and Runway Drive at Upper Coomera when he was attacked and briefly rendered unconscious.
As he regained consciousness, he found a man trying to steal his wallet, but managed to stop the man, who fled on-foot.
The assailant is described as being Caucasian in appearance and around 175cm tall, with a stocky build and dark, long, wavy hair. He was seen wearing dark jeans and a hooded jumper.
The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a minor head injury.
Investigations are continuing.
