Prep students have storytime in Mandarin | Video
Moreton Bay Boys' College Prep School student Ethan Ai and his friends have been excited about reading and learning to read this year. As a Mandarin speaker, Ethan has taught his friends how to count to 10 in Mandarin.
Their accents were so good Ethan brought in some readers from home. Although Moreton Bay Boys' College students do not learn Mandarin as a set language, they can learn Spanish from Year 2 and Japanese in Year 7.
Head of College Mr Tony Wood said as an IB World School students were encouraged to actively explore other cultures from around the world.
The Ai family has donated a series of books to the school library which Ethan is looking forward to translating to his classmates next term.
