For the second year in a row Redlands will contest the rugby league grand final.
After a convincing 24-10 win over Logan Brothers, the Parrots will take on Bulimba in the grand final on Saturday.
Redlands matched Logan in the middle and with 15 minutes played Redlands fullback Gareth Jones put a kick down the Logan 20m line, which was picked up by Redlands half back Max McMillan to go over and score and take a 4-0 lead.
As Logan went on the attack, McMillan intercepted the ball to run 75m to score under the post to go into the break with a 10-0 lead.
Early in the second half Logan scored two tries to lock the scores up, before Redlands fullback Garath Jones joined in the backline and moved the ball to winger Steve Harris to score in the corner and take a 14-10 lead.
Play became very physical, and Redlands was awarded a penalty for a shoulder charge on front rower Ryan Wakeling-Davidson.
Redlands recieved another penalty near the half way and Rob Sandesrson's touch finder put Redlands deep in the Logan half, allowing centre Ben Winks to score. The kick was converted by Craig Matheson, taking the game out of Logan's reach by 20-10.
With only one minute remaining, McMillan scored again to take Redlands to a convincing 24-10 win.
After the game coach Shane Munro was pleased with his side's win and congratulated hooker and man of the match Mitch Askew on his performance.
Saturday's games start with the under 20s at 11.30am, the north side Open 1s at 1.15pm then the south side Open 1s at 3pm. The club would love to see as many of its loyal fans as possible come along and support the team and then back at the leagues club to meet the team.
