Water bombing has stopped for the day over the island, but QFES ground crews, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Redland City Council will stay on the scene through the afternoon.
QFES is still warning residents of potential smoke haze.
10am: Two aircraft are en route to North Stradbroke Island to provide water bombing and reconnaissance support to ground crews near the fire.
Mainland urban crews are also heading over to the island to support the island's firefighters.
QFES has warned that residents in the area could experience smoke haze and have asked motorists to be cautious.
9am: Firefighters are at the scene of a bushfire burning near Yarraman Mine on North Stradbroke Island.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the blaze started in inaccessible bushland east of the mine at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
No property is threatened is at this stage, but QFES, police, local emergency service crews and Redland City Council fire crews are on site.
Water bombing is due to start later today.
Anyone affected by smoke from the fire has been urged to close windows and doors, while anyone with respiratory conditions has been asked to keep medication close.
