If you didn't think the Swans would make the AFL grand final and hadn't planned to head to Melbourne, it is time to think again - and to double-check the bank balance.
After Friday's 71-point dismantling of North Melbourne in the first preliminary final at ANZ Stadium, Sydney fans are facing a costly scramble to grab flights, accommodation and, of course, tickets for next Saturday's grand final match.
So, what are their chances of getting there?
The MCG has allocated 15,000 tickets to each grand final team. Swans members hoping to get their hands on one of these have already pre-registered in a ballot.
Swans Premiership Club members are guaranteed a ticket from the ballot when they are allocated on Monday. As for lower-grade club members who have registered in the ballot, it will be up to the ticketing gods.
Grand final tickets start from $180 for adults and $153 for concession holders. Top tier seats are $399 for adults, $339 for concession holders.
In the wait to find out the ballot outcome on Monday, however, airfare and accommodation prices are on the rise.
A spokesman for Flight Centre said that as of Friday afternoon, a one-way Sydney-Melbourne flight arriving in the city on match day would cost $300 to $400.
Flights home the next day were similarly priced, if not slightly more expensive.
Flight Centre said while the fares were correct on Friday, the indications are that they may not be available by Sunday.
"In situations like this our consultants and their customers can get quite creative," the spokesman said.
"Options may include things like flying into Avalon, which looks slightly cheaper at the moment."
In the past, Flight Centre consultants have even worked out ways to get AFL fans from Perth to Melbourne via Singapore, or Sydney to Melbourne via Auckland to snag fares cheaper than domestic.
"Obviously, there is much more travel time involved, but people are sometimes happy to do it for the savings," he said.
Comparatively, a flight to Melbourne the following weekend is about $100 cheaper and the return flight to Sydney is in excess of $200 cheaper.
As for accommodation, the average price package for Saturday night in Melbourne's CBD was $330 as of Saturday morning.
