BIRKDALE paper crafter Kerrie Gurney will be a guest artist at the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair.
Demonstrating daily from 9am to 5pm for the five days of the fair, Kerrie, who has been involved in paper crafting for more than 20 years, will teach specific skills, techniques and the latest paper trends to novices and experienced paper crafters alike.
She said she did paper craft because she couldn't draw, but still needed an artistic outlet.
"Anyone can do it," Kerrie said. "It's just a whole lot of cutting, sticking and dyeing to create something truly unique.
"There's nothing like making a unique card for a special someone or being able to personalise decorations for a celebration," Kerrie said.
"I'll have some of my holiday scrapbooking efforts on display at the fair in hope of inspiring others to relive those cherished memories and create something beautiful and tangible to preserve them."
Kerry said she especially looked forward to introducing new people to paper craft.
In addition to demonstrating the craft, she will also conduct Make and Take sessions twice daily, in which, for $5, visitors to the fair can make a card or scrapbook layout.
The Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair is a great opportunity to see inspirational displays, meet experts, attend workshops and classes and see, try and buy the best in crafting supplies from card making, scrapbooking, knitting and embroidery to sewing, quilt making, mixed media, jewellery-making and more.
The fair will run from October 8 to 12 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Brisbane, from 9am to 5pm.
Tickets can be bought on the day or online.
