Redlands public schools will receive a combined $4 million in funding next year as part of a state government attempt to boost students' literacy and numeracy skills.
Every state school will receive direct funding to contribute to literacy and numeracy programs as part of the government's Great Results Guarantee program.
Cleveland District State High School will receive the lion's share of the local funding, with an estimated $506,772 to flow to the school in 2015, up from $191,491 this year.
Schools will be able to direct the money to areas of need within the local community.
Prelimary results from the 2014 NAPLAN tests show Queensland students are below the national average in every area except persuasive writing.
Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said the program aimed to make Queensland's numeracy and literacy results among the best in the country by 2020.
"These skills enable them to develop their full potential and participate fully in our society and our growing economy," Mr Langbroek said.
