On a beautiful Queensland spring day, "cricket was the winner" as the Redlands boys batted, bowled and fielded well on day one of the latest two-day round of the Qld Premier Grade Cricket competition.
Throw in a thrilling semi-final in the 2nd grade T20 competition on Sunday and the weekend was almost complete. Unfortunately Redlands went down by six runs to a strong Uni side.
Players of the week were bowlers with Michael Herdman taking five wickets in 1st grade and Lenny Watt who took six wickets in 2nd grade. Well done to both players for an excellent effort.
Top scorers from the weekend were Nick Forsyth 90 in 5th grade, Mitch Drennan 80 in 3rd grade, Marnus Labuschagne 78 in 1st grade and Cameron French 51 not out off 36 balls in the 2nd grade T20 semi-final.

All junior cricketers in the Redlands are reminded that clubs are in the process of organising teams for the new season. Please contact your local club now if you are wanting to play.
