With the experience of a difficult year behind them, the Bulldogs will build on what they have learned and are confident the 2015 season will be their best since being promoted to the Premier League.
Senior coach Peter Davidson and reserves coach Kevin Byrne have signed up again, and their achievements have attracted the attention of top-line players from other clubs who are looking to sign up.
Capalaba FC will also now field junior sides in an elite new Super Youth League designed to raise the standards of youngsters throughout Brisbane.
The SYL is restricted to a limited number of clubs, which will attract all youngsters keen to go on to the top level.
"Many football scribes picked us as relegation material at the start of the season," Davidson said. "Instead, the firsts ended up mid-table, and our reserves made the grand final, to lose in a penalty shoot-out.
"Kevin Byrne did an amazing job with his squad. It has many good young players, which is extremely pleasing for the club moving forward."
With an established base to work on during the pre-season, the Bulldogs are in a far better position than they were when Davidson took the reins last season.
"Having lost the majority of the squad of 2013, we had a rebuild to undergo," he said.
"Not only did we lose many quality players, we lost an enormous amount of BPL game experience, which was always going to be hard to replace.
"We retained only the Sherwood brothers, Sam Roper, Tim Dunn and a handful of others who had played a part role throughout the 2013 season.
"We lost Tim Dunn during the Silver Boot to a season-ending knee injury, then in the pre-season game we lost both Sam Owen and James Millar to long-term injuries."
For the first few matches, as many as 25 players started or were subbed on from the bench.
A stand-out result was the 2-2 draw at home against Premiership runners-up Peninsula Power, who hammered Premiers Wolves FC 5-0 in the grand final.
As Power fought to lead the table, the Bulldogs pulled off a 1-1 draw at AJ Kelly Park in the return fixture.
The second half of the season was a completely different story mainly due to more consistent team selection and the addition another eight new players of the calibre of John Thompson, Josh Harding, Jake Kallis, Matt McNab and Marco Adaggio.
"During this period we performed outstandingly and had played some brilliant football," Davidson said.
"Players had started to gel and the combinations showed development.
"Among the key players, Steve Leslie had the ability to change games with his exceptionable skills, using his 100 games of professional football experience gained at Shrewsbury Town in the UK to our advantage."
Paul O'Brien, who wrapped up most of the player awards at Saturday's presentation night, and Sam Roper continued dominating the midfield and both contributed greatly to the success.
Josh Sherwood scored goals consistently, Josh Harding and John Thompson strengthened the middle of the defence.
Jake Kallis, Mar Thompson and Stephen Homer demonstrated a brilliant work ethic and, with Homer, added valuable goals towards the season's end.
The added fire power of Adaggio, McNab and Keiichi Ueda always threatened as the side forged forward.
Both Jake Sherwood and Roper reached their 100 game milestones, and Josh Sherwood has been selected for the BPL Team of the Year to play Sunshine Coast.
Steve O'Connor was employed as keeper coach and his work with the keepers was second to none.
John Peacock and Greg Cobb both assisted with the teams in a management role and worked tirelessly to provide coaches and players with all their requirements.
Physio Dave Gill made sure players rehabilitation and injury prevention was well monitored and was integral in keeping many players on the park.
