Ten students from, Redlands Martial Arts Academy under the guidance of Shihan Shane Degney leave on Thursday for Glendale in Los Angeles to compete in the 50th Anniversary Kubota Annual All-Star Karate Championship USA.
This internationally recognised tournament attracts competitors from all over the world and is expecting in excess of 500 to compete. Redlands Martial Arts Academy was invited by Soke Takayuki Kubota, founder of the IKA (International Karate Association) to represent Queensland.
Redlands Martial Arts has been fundraising all year to help fund this trip and all the students chosen have been training very hard for this event as they know the standard of competition will be world class and are extremely confident of doing well.
