Dangers and risks of being a police officer were acknowledged when police officers attended a ceremony to mark National Police Remembrance Day on Monday.
Police Commissioner Ian Stewart and Chief Superintendent Allan McCarthy attended the service at Cleveland's Star of the Sea, along with more than 100 officers from Redland City beats.
All officers wore satin blue-and-white checked ribbons as a sign of respect for those killed on duty.
