REDLAND roads will once again receive about $1.14m in federal funding to fix some of the city's black spots.
Bowman MP Andrew Laming said Redland City Council would get $7 million over the next five years for construction and street repairs.
Council will receive its 2014-15 annual funding allocation of $1,146,262 next month.
But Mr Laming said Council could expect a doubled Roads to Recovery payment of more than $2 million next year in 2015-16, when the nation's total allocation rises to $700million.
He said the $6,877,573 council grant, part of the federal Roads to Recovery Program, would help keep drivers safe and bolster the local economy.
Council will decide where to spend the money based on local needs, without any interference from Canberra.
“That means it will be truly directed to where it’s most needed in our community,” Mr Laming said.
“We’ve extended the program for another five years to ensure our roads are safe and our communities are well connected.
“That’s a huge windfall for much-needed local road works,” he said.
