POLICE are looking for the owners of a stash of jewellery found after last week’s rowboat and golf buggy chase in Birkdale.
Detective Senior Constable Ross Dobbie asked anyone who recognised the recovered items to get in touch with police.
The jewellery, suspected to have been stolen in a series of break and enters through the Redlands and eastern Brisbane, was found next to a backpack in Ransome after the arrest of a 23-year-old man on Wednesday.
Police allege the man swam across Tingalpa Creek to evade arrest after two officers spotted him.
A rowboat, golf buggies and police dog helped apprehend the offender.
He was charged with 12 property offences, including stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The man was remanded in custody and will appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court on November 24.
