POINT Lookout surfer Ethan Ewing has been crowned Queensland's under-18 state champion in the sport.
The gong also earned the teenager a wildcard spot at the 2015 Quiksilver Pro trials.
Although he placed second during the under-18 boys' division final at the Sunshine Coast last weekend, Ethan had enough points to take the overall champion title for the competition.
The win came almost a year after an accident that left Ethan out of the water for several months.
