Thieves have continued to break into cars across Alexandra Hills, prompting police to once again urge motorists to keep their vehicles locked.
Eight cars were broken into over Monday and Tuesday nights in the Capalaba police division, all but one occurring in Alexandra Hills.
The spate followed 13 unlawful entries last week across the suburb, as well as Birkdale and Capalaba.
A police spokeswoman said many of the break-ins were by "opportunistic" thieves, who scanned streets to look for valuables in both locked and unlocked cars.
She urged residents to make sure their cars were locked at all times when not being used, and to take valuables out of the vehicle.
If any valuables have to stay inside the car, it's recommended that they be out of sight or hidden.
Five people have been arrested and charged over some of the break-ins, but investigations are continuing.
