TONY Eathorne may just be Victoria Point's handiest man after claiming the top prize at the recent Hire A Hubby Franchisee of the Year awards.
Tony picked up the Queensland award reserved for a multi-person operation.
Tony joined Hire A Hubby in 2008 and has seen his business grow from strength to strength.
"It's been important to me to be able to offer our customers different services, which can range from minor repair work to renovating kitchens whatever we can do to make their lives easier," he said.
"Receiving this award gives my team members the recognition they deserve for the effort and hard work they tirelessly put in.
"These days everyone is busy they either don't have the time to get on with jobs around the house, or the tools to complete them. They may not be the handiest person either that's where we come in. "I can leave a job and know our customers feel great because they've been able to tick something off the list they've wanted done for some time," Tony said.
Hire A Hubby chief executive Brendan Green congratulated Tony on his award.
"It's great to be able to recognise the guys in our business who are doing some really great work and who are committed to building the brand in Australia.
"Tony has been a wonderful addition to the Hire A Hubby network and fully deserves this win," Brendan said.
Hire A Hubby commenced operation in Melbourne in 1995 as a single person operation.
With a name and colour scheme like that of Hire A Hubby, it wasn't long before the business gained a foothold after a range of exposure.
The franchise business has been operating for 16 years after launching the first franchise.
Hire A Hubby now boasts 300 franchisees in Australia, with a further 70 in New Zealand and 20 in the UK.
The business has grown out of the original guise of simplistic handyman work, to now doing that and a whole range of more complex work, including kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations.
