Welcome to Brisbane Live, where you'll find rolling coverage of the news as it happens in Brisbane
Good afternoon and welcome to Brisbane Live.
John Birmingham’s cult novel The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco is all set to be adapted to the big screen, with shooting to begin in Brisbane next year.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has welcomed the news with the writer, producer, and director all based locally and has called on locals to get behind the crowd-funding campaign behind the production.
Locals who pledge $5 or more to the campaign will receive first option on paid work as extras on the film, as well as other rewards and gifts.

A man charged with his uncle's death 15 years ago intends to plead not guilty to murder, after cold case homicide detectives charged him on Wednesday.
Robert James Wagner, 53, is accused of murdering Gerhard Wagner, who was aged 61 when he disappeared in 1999.
Defence lawyer Kris Jahnke said his client would be pleading not guilty.
"I've received instructions to defend the allegations and we will be making an application for bail in the Supreme Court in the coming weeks," he said.
Soon after Alex Leapai lost to Wladimir Klitschko in Germany in April, he vowed to bounce back in front of his home fans. Those supporters were originally supposed to be at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday night for his comeback bout against well-credentialed American Malik Scott.
After a calf strain and lower back complaint forced a postponement, Leapai will fight in his home town of Logan next Friday (October 31). Boondall always feels cavernous on fight nights but you can bet the Logan Metro Sports Centre won't have a spare seat.
The atmosphere will be huge and could even get Leapai over the line on what shapes as an intriguing fight.
