An aerial drone helped fire officers from Redland Bay and Capalaba to bring under control a bush fire at Cascades Park Gardens at Victoria Point on Wednesday.
The fire first started on Tuesday night but firies were on the scene, near the Scout hut, on Wednesday to make sure it did not flare up.
A controlled fire burned everything from the gravel road beside the park down to the creek and the drone was used to check progress across more than 100hectares of land.
A night crew also monitored the site overnight Wednesday.
Firefighter in charge Ian Moore, from Redland Bay fire station, said the drone equipment allowed fire fighters to check on the fire without having to leave the safety of a buffer zone.
