Can you buy your Christmas needs 100% locally?
This is the question posed by Steve Davies, Member for Capalaba, and other local MPs as the biggest shopping frenzy in the Redlands gets set to begin.
The 100% Redlands Christmas Challenge is a buy local campaign designed to increase patronage of Redlands businesses in the lead-up to Christmas.
The challenge asks residents to buy 100% of their Christmas needs locally, with great weekly prize draws and a major prize draw as incentive to participate.
2014's challenge is run in partnership with the Redland City Bulletin, which this year is providing the major prize of a $2500 shopping voucher that can be redeemed at any participating store.
The challenge opens on November 12 when shoppers will be able to enter the online draw using a receipt from every purchase made from local business registered with The Challenge.
They will also be able to fill out their details and enter the draw in store after making their purchase.
Business owners are encouraged to participate in the promotion. Businesses that wish to participate can fill out the online registration form at www.100percentredlands.com.au or contact the Redland City Bulletin. Registration is now open.
Shoppers are encouraged to get behind the promotion to support local business owners.
