Marina Prior comes to the Redlands for the first time to perform her Songbird tour at 8pm on Sunday, November 2, presenting an eclectic mixture of song from opera, musical theatre, celtic to folk pop.
She performs with David Cameron on piano.
The tour encompasses cities and regional Queensland and Marina said there was nothing she enjoyed more than the responsive audiences from places like the Redlands.
"I always try to visit the museum and the art gallery when I go to these places. It's a great way to see Australia. I like to look around when I come to somewhere new," she said.
Marina's tour started five months ago and she leaves it for a play with the Melbourne Theatre company at the end of the year.
"Touring is a lovely thing to do between shows. It's such a change and gives you great freedom. You get to chat, tell funny stories, laugh and wear what you like. I like the informality of it and the audience seems to like it too," she said.
Her new Songbird tour launches her new CD Songbird, released with Fanfare Records and including the single Songbird by singer/songwriter and Fleetwood Mac keyboard player Christine McVie. The CD bundles her Encore album of musical theatre hits with Marina Prior Live and Both Sides Now.
Tickets are $70/$60 can be booked on 3829 8131 or at the RPAC website.
