Catches are still being dominated by whiting and flathead, especially by anglers using bait.
A few bull sharks were caught from the Albert and Logan rivers again this week although they are by no means in good numbers top and bottom of the tide as the water slows for the turn have been the best times.
There have been quite a few sand crabs around it is worth putting a few pots out no matter where you are.
The top spots have been the Tweed River, northern Broadwater and throughout Moreton Bay.
There were a few school mackerel caught in the bay this week some as far west as Peel Island and the shipping beacons just wide of the Brisbane River.
The better numbers have come from the channels along Moreton Island south to the Bar and into the northern end of the Rainbow Channel.
A few tuna were also reported, most coming from the far northern bay around the Spitfire Channel.
Harry's is still turning up just legal snapper; the shallows around the bay islands and reef areas off Redcliffe are also producing legal snapper.
The Brisbane River produced better results this week, with snapper from Clara Rocks out to the Reclamation Pond walls.
There were also mulloway and threadfin caught from around lighted City Cat jetties and marinas.
Trag have been in good numbers, especially off the Gold Coast on the 36s.
There has also been pan size snapper and a few other mixed reef species on the shallow grounds.
A few dolphinfish have been reported around FADs and the Wave Rider Buoy but they have been difficult to catch, spooking easily.
Sharks are a problem at the moment a lot of anglers are reporting bite-offs when trying to bring in a hooked fish.
On the freshwater scene, bass have been in excellent numbers in Somerset, Wivenhoe and North Pine dams.
There have also been good numbers of yellowbelly in the Stanley River arm of Somerset and rocky outcrops in Wivenhoe Dam.
