WOODLANDS Drive has to be one of the most scenic, beautiful roads in the Redlands.
In an area zoned "rural non-urban" it beggars belief that a proposal for a 332-lot subdivision on the corner of Woodlands Drive and Taylor Road could be taken at all seriously by Redland City Council.
Of course, when any decision is to be made about Woodlands Drive such as the proposed crematorium the mayor Karen Williams claims conflict of interest and no doubt through developers funding her election campaign.
Misguided Eveline Fenelley claims in her letter in a recent edition: "Redand City Council at great taxpayer expense confirmed the area as suitable for development."
What kind of development I ask? Little rows of butterbox houses squished up against each other? I think not.
The mere suggestion of such inappropriate development is an affront to the residents of Woodlands Drive who chose to live in a rural setting.
Hands off Woodlands Drive. Unscrupulous developers and the council's "tight-lipped" stance on this issue is not a good look at all.
