South Australian key position prospect Sam Durdin has received a late invitation to this week's draft on the Gold Coast, raising the potential for them to be chosen with a top-10 selection.
Northern Knights forward Kyle Langford is also tipped to receive a late call-up, after another handful of players were earlier invited to attend.
Christian Petracca and Paddy McCartin, contenders for St Kilda's No.1 pick, will attend, along with midfield prospects Angus Brayshaw, Jarrod Pickett, Jordan De Goey, Paul Ahern, Jayden Laverde, Liam Duggan and Lachie Weller.
Key forward Peter Wright and defensive prospects Hugh Goddard, Jake Lever and Caleb Marchbank have also been invited to the draft, to be held at the Gold Coast convention centre on Thursday night.
Collingwood's father-son pick Darcy Moore will also attend, along with Isaac Heeney, already secured by Sydney with pick 18.
While Durdin may have been invited on the basis that he is one club's back-up plan, Langford's possible attendance adds to speculation he could be chosen by Collingwood at pick 5.
Lewis Taylor was a late call-up to last year's draft, as Melbourne's second back-up for pick 9, which it used to draft Christian Salem. The Rising Star winner made it to pick 28, where he was drafted by Brisbane.
The Magpies' first pick is squeezed between the Giants three top 10 selections – 4, 6 and 7 – with a number of players linked to both clubs.
Pickett could be chosen by GWS at pick 4, given Collingwood's interest in the speedy West Australian, with Goddard, Marchbank, Wright and Ahern also chances to head to the Giants.
Collingwood has been linked to De Goey and the versatile Langford, along with onballers Weller, Ahern, Laverde and Duggan.
St Kilda, the first non-expansion club to hold the No.1 pick since 2009, will choose between powerful forward McCartin and dynamic midfielder-forward Petracca.
Melbourne is expected to draft Brayshaw with either pick 2 or 3, and will look to either the player St Kilda overlooks, or Lever, with its second selection.
Wright is not expected to get too far outside the top 10, if indeed he makes it that far. The 203-centimetre forward could go to Geelong at pick 10, or head to the Giants or Suns. De Goey may also appeal to the Cats, if available.
Duggan remains popular with many clubs, is in contention for Gold Coast's pick 8 and could be chosen anywhere from there down to Fremantle's pick 13, where Marchbank and Lever are also in the mix.
Laverde is difficult to place should Collingwood not select him at pick 5 and, if he doesn't land at the Giants, is likely to make it outside the first 10, where West Coast, Adelaide and Fremantle will consider him.
Langford has also been linked to the Crows, who could also look at beefing up their key defensive group by drafting Lever or Durdin.
