The Pratt family and their packaging and recycling businesses continue to play a key role in Carlton's financial fortunes, contributing almost $1.3 million to the Blues' bottom line last season.
The Blues' annual report shows vice-president Jeanne Pratt provided $1.04 million in sponsorship, with the family business Visy retaining the naming rights to the club's home base of Princes Park. In return, Pratt received only $25,000 in goods.
Her son-in-law Raphael Geminder contributed $239,962 but did not receive anything in return. He also made a $15,000 donation to the club through the Australian Sports Foundation.
Pratt, Zac Fried and 1987 premiership player Adrian Gleeson were up for re-election at the December 18 annual general meeting but, as there were no new nominations, they will return.
Often criticised for having too big a board, the Blues have asked members to vote to reduce the maximum number of directors allowed from 13 to the current size of 10. This excludes former president Stephen Kernahan who officially resigned in September.
The Blues are to follow the lead set by other clubs and have the board appoint an independent nominations committee that would assess potential candidates for election. The committee will consist of the club president and two independent members.
