The recent tree planting will make the William Ross park a better place for people and wildlife.
Over the years there have been several episodes of tree planting. Some have been done to link the park with a koala corridor which includes Donald Simpson Park and runs along Ross Creek to South Street.
The latest planting of around 200 trees within the existing park will have a big impact over the years when they become established.
William Ross Park already has a resident population of breeding koalas and the extra trees will be welcome as they will allow the koalas more living space and hopefully reduce the stress from high density inner city living.
Koalas always look so contented, but then they are inscrutable.
