CLEVELAND para swimmer Daniel Fox has ended the year on a high note, breaking his third world record for the year in the 100m freestyle event at the McDonalds Queensland championships at Chandler on Friday night.
Fox's time was was 53.55seconds, down 0.46seconds from his previous world record set in
He also won swimmer of the meet with a disability.
Fox was also one of 16 paralympic swimmers selected to compete in the Berlin Open Swimming titles in Germany in April.
In July, Fox won his first Commonwealth Games gold medal in the 200metre freestyle (S14) in 1:57.89 in Glasgow.
In August, he bagged three gold medals at the Para Pan Pacs in Pasadena, California.
The 24-year-old set two world records at the Pasadena games first swimming 25.18sec in the men's 50m freestyle S14 preliminaries, then swimming 24.77sec in the final.
Fox was the only athlete to break a world record at the Pasadena competition.
He broke the record twice in the men’s 100m freestyle S14, first in 54.80sec in the preliminaries and then swimming 54.69sec in finals to collect another gold medal.
He also won the men’s 200m freestyle event in 159.09sec
