Redlands First Grade player Marnus Labuschagne certainly put Redlands on the world map last week when called on to the Test arena at the Gabba as a sub fielder and took a stunning catch at short leg.
Marnus dived full length with his body off the ground to take a great catch. Marnus, along with team mate Sam Heazlett thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being amongst the Australian players.
1st Grade were the only team to play at the weekend and their one day game against Wynnum Manly turned sour as they were unable to chase down the huge total of 374 set by the Wynnum boys. Michael Herdman took the only two wickets that Wynnum Manly lost and Nick Hurford 40 not out and Ryan LeLoux 34 top scored for the Tigers.
This game was also Alex Kemp’s last game with Redlands as he moves to Sydney. Alex has served the Redlands Club for over 10 years, taking home a host of awards and achievements including being Captain of our 1st Grade team and being apart of the victorious Qld Sheffield Shield team. We wish Alex and his fiancée Tamara all the very best and we hope to see you back at Redlands sometime in the future.
We now have a few weeks break over the Christmas/New Year period with games resuming on Saturday 10 January 2015.

Well done to all players, especially Bailey Lavender on his selection in the QJC U/16 side.
The “Hoppy’s Car Wash Player of the Week award’ went to Nick Hurford who top scored with 40 not out in the 1st Grade one day.
