REDLAND skippers Jake Eve and Emily Edmunds have been crowned the world's king and queen of jump rope after winning World No 1 titles at this month's Skipping World Championships in Tampa, Florida.
Jake hopped into history books when he broke world records for the most number of skips in under 30 seconds at the gruelling nine-day event.
The 19-year-old from Ormiston skipped 200 times in 30 seconds, 100 on each leg.
Emily, a year 12 student at Faith Lutheran, was the only female to score above 400 for her freestyle routine, which won her the title of the world's best 15-plus female skipper.
For the fifth time in a row, 21-year-old Luke Boon, from Redland Bay, was crowned World Freestyle champ.
All four rope jumpers, from the Hurricane Crosses, were part of a club onslaught from Redlands, which included Cleveland Air Magic, Roped Into It and Hotshots.
The 35 Redland athletes from all three clubs broke two world records, eight junior Olympic records and won more than 400 medals.
Redland skippers won four of the five age groups in the overall teams events and Cleveland Air Magic's Maddy Barker was crowned World Youth Champion in the 14 and unders.
Head coach Carolyn Barker, a teacher at Cleveland State School, said she was glad all the hard work from the past six months had paid off.
The open mixed team, which included Emily, Jake, Jacky and Luke along with Cleveland's Emma Pinto, won their fourth World Title.
"None of us could believe it four teammates all world champions and all open World Individual Champions," Mrs Barker said.
Special commendation went to Hot Shot 15-year-old Logan Sponseller, who broke her foot in January but overcame that to win gold in the 15-17 females 30sec speed with a score of 94 hops on her right foot.
Logan and Brianna Tracy also won gold in the Pairs Freestyle and joined Shannon Rieck and Keely Thompson to win gold in the speed/double under relay.
