The spring tides wreaked havoc with the bay island barge which got stuck on the ramp at Russell Island on Wednesday afternoon.
Stradbroke Venture passengers were left stranded on Russell Island after the car ferry could not be backed off the ramp.
The cars were loaded on to the ferry on a falling tide and customers were told not to expect any movement until the high tide on Wednesday night.
