Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek kicked a winning goal when he and Capalaba MP Steve Davies visited Alexandra Hills State High to check on the school's Rugby League School of Excellence program on Thursday.
The pair were pivotal in garnering a $400,000 deal for the program, expected to boost the school as the premier Rugby League School, south of Brisbane.
Mr Davies said under the program the school would rival other schools of excellence at Keebra and Wavell Heights.
However, the funding is dependent on Mr Davies being re-elected on Saturday.
Capalaba is also expected to receive $4 million in maintenance backlog funding, a Master Teacher at Birkdale South State School and $2million in Great Start Guarantee funding for literacy and numeracy.
