Former teacher aide Pamela Henderson's heritage-style home in Laidley is filled with memories - not hers but the 100-year-old memories of countless Queenslanders.
They're the early faces of Queensland, left over from a family photo shop that operated from about 1880* to just before World War I.
Boxes of photos tell a small snippet of the stories of an endless stream of Queenslanders and raise even more questions.
Where are the collection of smartly dressed young men standing in front of a steam train heading?
What became of the fresh-faced soldier pictured smiling broadly for a portrait?
And perhaps most strikingly, what was going on with those incredible moustaches?
Now a young Brisbane history buff is embarking on the ambitious if not impossible task of reuniting "endless amounts" of these anonymous old photos with their owners.
At just 18 Mrs Henderson's grandson, Alex Pollock, isn't your average history enthusiast.
But the volunteer at the Laidley Pioneer Village and Museum is obsessed with both world wars and was thrilled to take up the challenge when his grandmother suggested the project.
"I've been studying up on the world wars like crazy and I've just got a big thing with history," he said.
"I'm an IT guy… so she asked me if I could do the page for her and I was like, perfect, IT, history, done."
Mr Pollock started the Early Faces of Queensland Facebook page in mid-January in the hope of connecting every one of the photos at his Grandma's home with a descendant still alive today.
He's only had a couple of inquiries so far but is hoping the page will quickly become more successful.
"History means a lot to me and I've grown up with it and I'd love to see people getting involved with family history," he said.
"One photograph can tell such a huge story and like, finding out a little bit about that photograph can open up a huge book of opportunities for that photograph itself.
"It's an unknown face and you can never know if they were a lawyer or a judge or they had a bank or they ran a store."
The unemployed teen spends up to an hour and a half a day categorising and uploading the pictures. There are dozens on the Facebook page so far but he admits it will probably take him years to upload the photos, let alone reconnect them with their descendants.
Mr Pollock plans to charge a small fee to cover the cost of postage.
