On Friday, with Cyclone Marcia reaching land and moving through Yeppoon, to Rockhampton, it was a fairly normal, albeit wet, day for 10-year-old Redlands College student Samuel Brown.
As the rain increased in the Redlands ahead of the tropical low, the localised flooding came into play.
This is Samuel's story and photos:
"It was a normal school day, when a cyclone hit. This cyclone was called Cyclone Marcia. We were in the middle of library time, when the Head of School called my teacher, to let her know we had to go home early.
"When my mum came to pick me up, we rushed through the rain. Then, I thought it was a good idea to take some photos of what the cyclone looked like in full spin.
"These photos are when we were driving down Anson Road (the street that leads to my school, Redlands College), in the wet, soggy rain.
"When we were driving home, I remember thinking to myself that I felt scared and I also felt the thrill of a cyclone hitting us.
"But I also thought of the poor families in Yeppoon that have their house torn to bits and that have nothing left."
