Redlands Cricket paid homage to the late Paul Hutchison who sadly passed away on Friday morning by having a minute's silence in remembrance of a great cricketer and clubman.
The spirit of Hutcho lived on in all games played last Saturday as the Redlands players dug deep and their overall performances show evidence of this.
Tigers need to win the majority of games to make the finals.
First grade bowled out bayside rivals Wynnum for 259 thanks to Marnus Labuschagne taking three for 53 and birthday boy Adam Ball 2 for 68.
If the Tigers boys had held their catches and did not bowl 19 no balls they would have been in a better position. The Tigers batsmen will have the job in front of them on Saturday.
Second grade are chasing 213 runs after Wynnum held them at bay for most of the day. Charles Mailli took six wickets and the Tigers fielding and catching was a highlight in a slow day's play.
Third grade dismissed Wynnum for 187, thanks to some fine bowling from Jason Hill, three wickets, and Ben Cole, two wickets. Redlands lost one wicket before bad light stopped play.
Fourth grade are chasing a much-needed win, having dismissed Wynnum for 132, with Brandon James taking three for 18 and Andrew Barrie two for 28.
The run chase has begun, with captain Anthony Lewis 26 not out and Michael Moss 25 not out. This is a must-win game for Redlands.
Fifth grade also need a win to make the finals and were in deep trouble at four for 39 before being rescued by a super innings from Mitch Carrigan, 107, Jordon Crick, 45, and Brayden Wallis, 43 not out.
The Tigers bowlers will be looking to destroy the Wynnum boys next Sunday and secure a spot in the finals.
The sixth grade no. 1 team, currently third on the ladder, look to be in a winning position after Michael Dwyer played a great innings for the Tigers with a superb 151 not out. Without his effort the Redlands boys would have been in big trouble.
Sixth grade no. 2 dismissed Toombul for 204 and will be looking to finish the season with a win on Saturday.
