Redland city's first outdoor beach volleyball court was given a workout when four elite world athletes gave free tuition on Sunday, March 1.
The athletes also held a demonstration match and skills clinic for local residents.
Redland City Council's Councillors Community Infrastructure Fund paid for the new facility, in Beth Boyd Park, Thorneside, now a popular spot for locals.
Thorneside councillor Paul Bishop played a crucial role getting SurfVolley.com.au involved to raise awareness about the new court.
Former world top 10 player Sara Montagnolli, pictured here in a blue shirt, and Australian representative Tanya Beths, in pink shorts, joined the fun.
Wynnum-Manly players Dion Schulz, pictured here in a red shirt, also gave free instructions on the game and the rules.
The athletes said it was the first free, permanent outdoor beach volleyball court close to Brisbane.
