Redland City mayor Karen Williams will meet her south-east counterparts when 11 south-east mayors gather to discuss Brisbane’s bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics on Friday.
The Council of Mayors Board meeting will discuss whether to support a Brisbane bid on behalf of the south-east region.
Redlands and Logan councils have said they are waiting to find out how much it would all cost before declaring a position.
Brisbane's Lord Mayor Graham Quirk will argue for the bid in front of 10 other mayors and senior representatives.
But they will have to win over the Gold Coast after Mayor Tom Tate ruled out making any financial contribution to a bid as his council was already funding the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba have already given initial support.
The meeting will be at Brisbane's City Hall at 1.30pm on Friday.
