Jake Bilardi, 18
Reported Islamic State suicide bomber, believed killed March 11, 2015
Jake Bilardi, 18, from Craigieburn, in Melbourne's north, is believed to have died in a suicide bombing in the Iraqi city of Ramadi. Mr Bilardi, a gifted maths student, travelled to Iraq to fight with Islamic State after becoming radicalised in the wake of his mother's death.
Adam Dahman, 18
Alleged suicide bomber, July 2014
From Northcote, in Melbourne's inner-north, Adam Dahman reportedly travelled Iraq in November 2010. Mr Dahman allegedly detonated a vest bomb outside an Iraq mosque in July 2014.
Sammy Salma, 22
Killed in an explosion in Aleppo, April 2013
The 22-year-old from Roxburgh Park, in Melbourne's northern suburbs, was killed fighting Assad forces and had links to al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra. Mr Salma had spent time at the same boxing gym as Roger Abbas, a champion kickboxer from Meadow Heights, who was killed in Syria in October 2013.
Yusuf Toprakkaya, 30
Killed by sniper fire in Syria, December 2012
Mr Toprakkaya was shot dead while fighting with rebel groups against al-Assad forces near Maarat Numan. He travelled to Syria at least six months before he was killed, leaving behind his wife and son in Broadmeadows, in Melbourne's northern suburbs. He reportedly wandered along the Syrian border, until he found a group willing to smuggle him into the war zone, where he was reportedly trained as a marksman and bomb maker. He died from sniper-fire.
Roger Abbas, 23
Reportedly killed in crossfire in Syria, October 2012
The Melbourne kickboxing champion was reportedly killed in Syria, near the Turkish border. Mr Abbas had regularly prayed at the Preston Mosque in Melbourne's north and went to Syria to do aid work, before he became involved with terrorist group Jubhat al-Nusra.
Zehra Duman, 21
Living in the de facto Islamic State capital, Raqqa
Melbourne woman Zehra Duman allegedly travelled overseas into the arms of Mahmoud Abullatif, a former Melbourne party boy-turned-Muslim extremist, in December last year. The former Keysborough student of Turkish descent reportedly travelled to Syria without her parent's knowledge. Mahmoud Abullatif was reportedly killed while fighting with IS in January this year, but Ms Dunman appears to remain committed to the jihad without him and continues to resist her family's pleas for her to return home.

Reportedly killed while fighting for IS, January 2015
Mahmoud Abdullatif, 23, left his Melbourne home late last year with a friend, Suhan Rahman, to join Islamic State in Syria. The unlikely jihadist boasted about his love of clubbing, partying, fast food and attractive women on Facebook and frequently uploaded photos of himself from the frontline, posing with guns. Mr Abdullatif married Australian-Turkish woman, Zehra Duman, who followed him from Melbourne to Syria. Ms Duman posted on Twitter in January this year that her husband was in heaven, having been killed while fighting for IS, but no Australian authorities have confirmed his death.
Suhan Rahman, 23
Reportedly fighting in Syria
The Melbourne university student from Roxburgh Park has appeared in photos on social media posing with machine guns and alongside Sydney extremist Mohamed Elomar. He travelled with Mahmoud Abdullatif to Syria in September where they met Mr Elomar and fellow jihadist Khaled Sharrouf.

Fighting with Islamic State in Iraq
Former Sydney-based convicted terrorist, Khaled Sharrouf, travelled to Syria via Malaysia on his brother's passport last year. Mr Sharrouf, a 33-year-old father of five from Punchbowl, has been referred to as Australia's most-wanted terrorist. He gained notoriety in August 2014 when he released a photo of his seven-year-old son holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier. The Australian Federal Police has issued a warrant for his arrest.
Mohamed 'Moey' Elomar, 29
Fighting with Islamic State in Iraq
He was once one of the most celebrated boxers rising through the ranks in Australia. Mr Elomar travelled to Iraq with his friend Khaled Sharrouf. Both have also been in the Syrian city of Raqaa, the Islamic State's de facto capital. The pair has also been accused of enslaving and raping women from the Yazidi religious minority in northern Iraq. The Australian Federal Police has issued a warrant for his arrest.

Fighting with Islamic State in Syria
A former Sydney preacher, Mostafa Mahamed, has been regarded as a senior player in extremist group Jabhat al-Nusra since he travelled to Syria in 2013. He goes by the name Sheikh Abu Sulayman al-Muhajir and is a member of the powerful group's Sharia council. He is reportedly fighting against al-Nusra's rival Islamic State outside the city of Aleppo. IS fighter Khaled Sharrouf has repeatedly threatened Mr Mahamed through social media.
Mustapha Al Majzoub, 30
Killed in rocket attack in Syria, 2012
Sydney teacher Sheikh Mustapha Al Majzoub was killed in a rocket attack in August 2012. Saudi Arabia-born Mr Al Majzoub was president of the Islamic Awareness Association. He was reportedly on the radar of Australian security services as an "extremist preacher". His family has insisted he was killed while engaged in "humanitarian and charity work".
Mohammad Ali Baryalei, 33
Reported to be living in Turkey
The former Kings Cross bouncer and one-time Underbelly actor has become a senior member of the Islamic State. Mr Baryalei, also known as Abu Omar, has allegedly recruited more than 60 Australians now fighting for IS and is believed to have recruited Khaleed Sharrouf. He was born to an aristocratic Afghan family and came to Australia as a child refugee. He left Australia for Syria via Tokyo in April 2013. He was reportedly killed in October 2014, although his death has not been confirmed by Australian authorities.
Zakaryah Raad, 22
Killed in June 2014
Zakaryah Raad was once convicted for his part in whipping a Muslim covert 40 times as punishment for drinking alcohol and taking drugs. He travelled to Syria and appeared in a 13-minute propaganda video for Islamic State, titled "There is No Life Without Jihad". The video said Mr Raad had died a "martyr" following filming.

Reportedly died fighting in Syria, February 2014
Ahmad Moussalli was hailed a hero by parts of the Muslim community following news of his death on the Syrian battlefront. The Lebanese-Australian graduate of South Strathfield High School had been studying Arabic in Egypt since late 2012 and sharing a room with a group of Australians but he slipped into Syria some time in 2013. Fairfax Media reported that he was a close friend of Yusuf Ali, with whom he had preached Islam on the streets of Sydney.
Caner Temel, 22
Reportedly killed in Syria, January 2014
The 22-year-old from Auburn, in Sydney's west, was reportedly killed while fighting in Syria's civil war. The man, of Turkish descent, was allegedly recruited to fight the Assad regime for Al Qaeda and its affiliate Jabha al-Nusra. He was reportedly an Australian soldier, based at the Enoggera Barracks in Brisbane's north, when he went absent without leave. An Australian Defence Force (ADF) spokesperson told Fairfax Media that Mr Temel joined the Australian Army in February 2009 and was discharged in September 2010.

Reportedly fighting for Islamic State
A man, who went by the name Abu Nour al-Iraqi, identified himself as Australian in a propaganda video titled "There is No Life without Jihad", but his true identity remains unknown. He appeared in the video with at least one other Australian Abu Yahya ash Shami, believed to be Zakaryah Raad. The footage shows men carrying weapons, walking through bush and attending meetings, and encourages Australians and Americans to join the fight. Subtitles on the video indicated that Abu Yahya ash Shami died after the video was made.
Abdullah Elmir, 17
Reportedly fighting with Islamic State in Iraq
The 17-year-old, dubbed the "Ginger Jihadi", ran away from his Bankstown home last June with his 16-year-old friend Feiz. Mr Elmir went missing in June 2014, after telling his family he was was going fishing. The teenagers reportedly travelled from Sydney to Perth, then Malaysia and Thailand and finally to Turkey, where they contacted their families to say they were about to cross the border into Syria. Mr Elmir became a poster boy for IS after appearing in a propaganda video threatening Prime Minister Tony Abbott. Feiz's was eventually found by his father, who convinced him to return home, but Mr Elmir appeared in a second IS video.

Ahmed Succarieh
Suicide bomber in Iraq, September 2014
Ahmed Succarieh, who went by the name Abu Asma al Australi, is believed to have driven a truck laden with explosives into a military checkpoint in the Syrian city of Deir al Zor on September 11, 2013, killing 35 people. One of three brothers from a working-class suburb in Brisbane's south, Mr Succarieh had reportedly attended Runcorn State High School.

Believed to be fighting for Jabhat al-Nusra
Abraham Succarieh quietly flew out of Brisbane bound for Dubai the day before his brother, Ahmed blew himself up in Syria. Australian Federal Police believe Abraham is fighting for terror group Jabhat al-Nusra, following in the footsteps of his "martyred" brother. The third Succarieh brother, Omar, was arrested in Brisbane in September 2014 for allegedly sending money to his brother Abraham and other members of Jabhat al-Nusra, a rival of Islamic State.
Yusuf Ali, 22
Killed in Syria, January 2014
Yusuf Ali was reportedly born Tyler Casey in the United States, but moved to Redcliffe north of Brisbane with his mother. He changed his name after converting to Islam at 17 and moving to Sydney, where he became a street preacher, converting Australians to Islam with other devout young men involved in the Street Dawah movement. During his time at Street Dawah, Mr Ali had met fellow jihadist Mohammad Ali Baryalei, who reportedly arranged his marriage to Amira Ali (nee Karroum). Mr Ali travelled to Syria and was later joined by his wife. However, the couple was shot dead in their house in Syria by members of the Free Syrian Army only days after Ms Ali arrived.

Ms Ali attended the exclusive Gold Coast Anglican private girls' school St Hilda's, before going on to study graphic design at Queensland University of Technology. During her teen years she worked at Sea World, but she left Queensland to live closer to her Muslim relatives in Sydney in 2012, where she met her husband Yusuf Ali. She left her Sydney home before Christmas, saying she was going to Denmark to do some humanitarian work, but instead joined her husband in Syria. Days later, the couple was found dead in their bullet-ridden house
Zia Abdul Haq, 33
Reportedly killed while fighting for Islamic State in Syria, October 2014
Afghan-born man Abdul Hal was reportedly killed on October 3, 2014. He had lived in Logan, south of Brisbane, with his wife and son, before travelling to Syria to join IS. Abdul Haq at one point attended the Holland Park Mosque in Brisbane's west. He reportedly moved to Syria after a bitter split from his wife.
