THE family of Redland Bay grandmother Rhonda Lofting, who died in a car crash in Alexandra Hills last year, has dedicated a bench to her memory at one of her favourite bayside parks.
Mrs Lofting's children planned the bench, which was installed at Wilson Park in Redland Bay, overlooking the water.
Her daughter, Stephanie, said the bench would allow the community to "see the world as she did".
"When you take the time to sit down, take in the panoramic view and read the inscription, it's a moment of utter stillness and serenity," she said.
"At this spot in Wilson Park, there is a bench with a sad story from a place of terrible beauty."
Mrs Lofting died when a Cleveland man allegedly drove a stolen vehicle through a red light and crashed into her car at the corner of Allenby and Finucane roads, Alexandra Hills, in August last year.
Troy Anthony Weston, 40, was charged with manslaughter and is due to face Brisbane Supreme Court later this year.
He faced court on lesser charges last week, which were adjourned to June.
