St Rita's mourns teacher's death
St Rita's Catholic School at Victoria Point is in mourning after the sudden death of assistant principal Shane Thompson on the weekend.
Mr Thompson had held previous positions as Acting Principal at St Joseph's, Biloela in 2008 and schools in Rockhampton, before taking up a position at St Rita's.
He was known around the school for standing near the gate every morning to welcome students.
He played a major part in educating children at St Rita's about the environment.
He attended school at St Laurence's Catholic College at South Brisbane.
A memorial prayer service for Mr Thompson was being organised for the school community on Thursday, April 2 at 9am.
