Over the past week the tailor have continued to bite, both in estuaries and in the surf.
Most of the action has been around bar entrances on the run-in tide.
Top spots include the Seaway and north wall of Wave Break Island and Kalinga Bank to the Mud Clumps off the eastern tip of Crusoe Island.
Whiting catches have been good on the edges of the main channels, not in the shallows.
The best results over the weekend came from up river of the Council Chambers in the Nerang and the banks on the northern side of Crusoe Island across to North Stradbroke.
Flathead have been in good numbers, but not big fish.
Top spots include Ageston Sands in the Logan River, the Pin Bar and Seaway.
If you're on the bay, look for tuna; catches increased this week around the shipping lanes and beacons off Bribie Island and open paddock area north of the Rous Channel.
There are also school mackerel around the larger shipping beacons in the bay.
Offshore Spanish mackerel are still in numbers in the shallows. We're also hearing of small black marlin a little wider.
The better Spanish catches came from just wide of the Pin Bar around the Dragon and off Point Lookout.
Bottom bashing has been hard work, with just small snapper and mixed reefies reported.
Live baits are fairing a little better, with a few kingfish, amberjack and cobia caught.
If you're heading to a dam over Easter, make sure you take your redclaw traps.
Reports have been consistent, with most coming from the shallows. Moving away from the boat ramp will see your catches improve.
Look for gradual sloping grass banks on the foreshores and put your pots in 2m - 3m of water.
Blind trolling for bass is still slow; finding the schools and using vertical jigs has been more productive.
