John and Daphne Day, of Cleveland, will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 23.
Daphne grew up in Ipswich, while John was raised in a country village in Essex, England.
They met in Melbourne in 1950 when Daphne was on a commonwealth transfer and John was training at Point Cook with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Flying School.
After John's service in Malaya and Korea the couple married in the Ipswich Methodist Church in 1955.
They raised their family in Tarragindi and retired to Cleveland in 1990.
Both John and Daphne have been involved in music and activities at the Donald Simpson Centre for many years and now enjoy the Cleveland parkrun.
To celebrate their marriage milestone they couple enjoyed a cruise to New Zealand.
